neilalex ~ We didn't like them much in 1975 I know that!
I think the pure hatred started as far back as 1964 when they were giving it large about only having to beat West Ham in the SF (a nailed-on walkover apparently!) at Hillsborough & the FA Cup was theirs (either Preston or Swansea in the final)
When we beat them 3-1 their fans turned on us & it got very nasty (I was just a kid at the time & travelled up with my mate in his dads car)
There might have been some history before that but that's my earliest memory of hatred for Manu

Noone is ever going to come close to Millwall, but certainly in the late 70's early 80's we hated Man Utd more than Chelsea and the Yids in my recollection? It was the old Cockney red thing as much as anything. Its been dimmed down as time has gone on, but we really fucking hated them back then.

Who'd have thought Man Utd were bigger rivals than Millwall? What fucking grot. We've had a great season, despite shit refs, injuries and a disappointing finale, but overall I'd say we thoroughly deserve Europe.

I've been going since 1981 Percy and in none of that time has man utd been hated more than Millwall, spurs or Chelsea.
There's no love with mancs that's for sure but they're well behind those 3.

If you've been going to west ham as long as me you'll know what I mean.There was always more hate towards them than any other team and that includes the yids.I hate them with a passion.You have to be over fifty five to understand that.

Seen we won't take Europe seriously a couple times now.
Considering, how soon our manager had got there and how he was willing to give people a chance to prove themselves before moving them on, we started two rounds earlier than this year, we had not signed some people yet and a number of other training reasons, I think we took it decently seriously until we had mess it up and the Premier League was looming.
I was a bit frustrated at the time but with some perspective, it was decent. And I still enjoyed going to all those home games.

Plus as Danny says, we wont take europe serious so why put any effort into supporting " the other team"

You said man united cheated us in fa cup and that's why you hope they lose. You then claim we didn't deserve place via league but we was equally cheated by poor refs decisions towards end of season. I'd say we should be in damn champs league let alone Europa.
